Meet the Team — James Taylor

Written by Cegedim Rx | Oct 8, 2025
In our latest instalment of Meet the Team we talk to James Taylor, Product Manager for our reporting system Pharmacy Intelligence Hub. He shares his passion for using data to help customers reap the rewards of their hard work, and why he wants to ‘tick all the boxes’ for customers at The Pharmacy Show in October.
Q. What’s the best part of being a product manager for Pharmacy Intelligence Hub?

A. I love working with data and making it easy for users to understand. Whether a customer has one pharmacy or 250, their data flows into the cloud, and the Intelligence Hub turns it into insights that help them run a profitable business.

The best part of my job is bringing people together to get projects over the line. We work closely with our Pharmacy Services team to make sure every new service has comprehensive reporting too.

Q. Have you always worked with data?

A. Not at all! I studied marketing and business, then started work in an admin role that led to an IT support opportunity.

I joined Cegedim 13 years ago on the service desk, moved into release management and beta testing, then business analysis.

Now as product manager, I get the best parts of all those roles – and thanks to the variety, I’ve got a deep understanding of our products and can pitch in anywhere I’m needed.

It’s been a natural progression following things that spark my interest.

Q. What skills do you think make a good product manager?

A. Being a good listener and communicator. I find out what customers want and why. Then I get buy-in from the development team to deliver something great that makes customers’ lives easier.

Product managers are always spinning lots of plates. From research implementation to delivery of releases and feedback. I try to put myself in everyone’s shoes on the project to see all points of view and make sure projects run smoothly.

You’ve got to be well-organised to keep the wheels turning.

Q. What’s the most rewarding part of your job?

A. Pharmacy is a tough world to operate in right now. So it gives me a real buzz when we make things easier for customers.

One of the most impactful things that we've done with Intelligence Hub is highlight where pharmacies aren’t claiming for their prescriptions.

Some customers were losing thousands each month because of this blind spot, now it’s next to nothing. They work extremely hard. It’s rewarding to know our tech is helping them claim all that they’ve earned.

Q. What been your biggest achievement as a product manager to date?

A. Hands down - launching Pharmacy First reporting in 2024. It helps pharmacies see if they’re hitting service targets so they can unlock NHS bonus payments.

The interface is simple, clear and works for everyone. All the insights pharmacies need are there, in real-time, and at the touch of a button.

Q. 2025 marks your fifth year at The Pharmacy Show. What are you looking forward to?

A. It’s a jam-packed couple of days that the team and I put a lot of energy into it. But it’s so worth it. Meeting customers, sometimes for the first time in real-life, hearing their feedback about the products and just getting to have a laugh with them too is so important.

When talking to prospective customers, it’s always interesting to hear their experiences with pharmacy technology. We want to tick all the boxes for customers, so these conversations help to keep us on the right track. Seeing pharmacy through their eyes is so important.

Plus with my background across the business, I’m ready to answer questions about almost anything. Hit me up!

Q. When you’re not tinkering with pharmacy tech, how do you enjoy spending your time?

A. Recently I went salmon fly fishing with family to the River Dee near Balmoral. We didn’t spot any royals, but there was plenty of fishing, chatting and big family dinners.

Come and meet James, and the whole of the Cegedim Rx team at C30 at The Pharmacy Show between 12 – 13 October at the Birmingham NEC.
