In response to the Russian/Ukraine crisis, the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) has issued guidance on what to do now the risks around Cyber-Attacks are heightened.
To help support medical professionals across the UK and support cyber resilience in pharmacies, GP's and beyond, we’ve found the best guidance and advice.
NCSC’s ‘Staying Safe Online: Top Tips for Staff’
While the NCSC are unaware of any current cybersecurity threats to the UK, it is important that we all take steps now to improve our resilience in the event of an attack. For these reasons, the NCSC has produced an e-learning training package: 'Staying safe online: top tips for staff'. The training has been designed specifically for a non-technical audience; is totally free, easy-to-use (taking less than 30 minutes to complete) and includes:
- Why Cyber Security is essential and how attacks happen.
- How to defend yourselves against ‘phishing’ emails.
- Using strong passwords.
- Securing your devices (both at work and at home) and
- How to report incidents ('if in doubt, call it out')
NHS’s ‘Cyber and data security’
Similarly, NHS Digital have also published dedicated resources that provide advice and how to report an incident – Cyber and data security - NHS Digital.
This notifies you of any new cyber alerts or potential threats, and gives you the option to report any new incidents. Similarly, they offer a range of services, such as virtual perimeter security, vulnerability scanning, and cybersecurity rating service that can help your team stay safe while online.
