At Cegedim Rx, Mental Health Awareness Week has been more than just a date in the calendar. It’s been a reminder of the importance of everyday self-care. Something we all need, and something we’re committed to supporting long after the week is over.
Led by our internal wellbeing team, the past few days have seen a series of thoughtful activities, resources and reflections shared across the business. We’d like to thank the team - Andy Earnshaw, Leanne Hackett, Lorraine Lister, Jo Morris, Martyn Rackham and Rebecca Gillingham - for putting wellbeing on the agenda and making it feel approachable and personal.
Here’s what they encouraged us to explore this week:
📱 My Possible Self – a brilliant NHS-approved app to help manage your mood and build healthy habits. Get it here
📱Balance – this fantastic meditation and mindfulness app is perfect for carving out moments of calm in your day. Get it here
📕 Don’t Believe Everything You Think by Joseph Nguyen – a short, reflective read on how our thoughts shape our reality. View it here
🎧 How to Fail by Elizabeth Day – inspiring and refreshingly honest. Find it here
📕 10% Happier by Dan Harris – sceptic-turned-meditator, with plenty of laughs. You can find more on Dan’s website here.
Beyond the resources, this week was also about connection. From breakfast chats and a team wellbeing walk to a lunchtime meditation and a menopause awareness session led by Jo Morris — these small, shared moments made a big impact.
“It’s not about doing everything — it’s about doing something.”
That was the message from our wellbeing team this year.
In a sector where burnout is a real and rising issue, especially for healthcare workers, we know how important it is to build a culture of kindness, openness and ongoing care. As a business that supports community pharmacy across the UK, we recognise the pressures facing frontline teams and the value of looking after those who care for others.
Mental health isn’t a one-week theme. It’s a year-round priority. So, whether it’s a short walk, a five-minute check-in, or simply a reminder to be kinder to yourself - it all matters.
Let’s keep making space for it.
